Mickleham
(Work in progress)
To call this a terrace is really an understatement. There are three large reception rooms along the back of the
house, each with it's own set of doors opening onto the garden. Originally these doors gave onto a level area of rough grass and
gravel.
The clients bravely agreed to terrace this entire area, punctuating the space with generous plantings of mixed perennials and grasses, thus creating spaces that mirrored the rooms inside.
The result is a generous and comfortable series of terrace areas that reflect the proportions of the house and extend the rooms from inside, out.
