To call this a terrace is really an understatement. There were three large reception rooms along the back of the house, all opening onto a large level area of grass and gravel.

The clients bravely agreed to terrace this entirely, punctuating the stone with generous areas of mixed perennial planting, thus creating spaces that mirrored the rooms inside.

The result is a generous and comfortable series of terrace areas that reflect the proportions of the house and extend the rooms inside, out into the landscape.
